You can contact us at all alert levels and you get your regular payments as usual. At our service centres, we’re looking after the health and safety of our clients and each other.

Alert Levels 4, 3 and Level 3 (Step 1)

Our service centres are closed to the public at Alert Levels 4, 3 and Level 3 (Step 1). This keeps everyone safe and helps stop the spread of COVID-19.

Our service centres are open to the public and we stick to the public health guidelines. If you need our help:

Visiting us in Alert Level 2 and Level 3 (Step 2)

If we need you to come in, we’ll make an appointment for you. This means you won’t have to wait for long and can follow physical distancing rules.

We follow Government guidelines to keep people safe and help stop the spread of COVID-19. When we work with clients, we wear face coverings. And we need to carefully manage the number of clients coming into our service centres.

Help us keep everyone safe and healthy

If you’re coming in to see us, you need to:

  • sign in so we can do contact tracing if we need to. If you don’t have the NZ COVID Tracer App on your phone, you can sign in other ways.
  • wear a face covering, unless there’s a medical reason you can’t. We can give you a mask if you don’t have one.
  • stay two metres from other people, including other clients.

If you can’t wear a face covering, just let the tautiaki (security guard) know when you arrive.

If you're sick

Stay at home, even if you have an appointment.

You also need to stay at home if you or anyone in your household is:

  • sick
  • waiting for a COVID-19 test result
  • self-isolating
  • advised to stay at home by a doctor or the National Contact Tracing team
  • most at risk of getting very sick with COVID-19.

We can help you over the phone or make a new time for your appointment.

Medical certificates and reviews

You can start getting paid a benefit without a medical certificate at Alert Levels 3 and 4.

Some medical reviews have been put on hold due to COVID-19. When your review re-starts depends on the payment you get.

Supported Living Payment

We'll write to you to let you know when you need to give us new information.

You don't need to do anything until we write to you.

Jobseeker Support or deferred work obligations

Let us know if your situation has changed and you're ready for work if you’re getting either:

  • JobSeeker Support
  • work obligations deferred because you have a health condition, injury or disability.

If you still cannot work, you don't need to do anything right now.

We're making some changes to the medical certificate process. We'll write to you when you need to give us new information.

Your payments carry on until then.
