Public transport fares
You can get a 50% discount on single-trip adult fares on public transport if you have a Community Services Card. This discount is part of the Community Connect programme. You need to apply for the discount through your local transport provider.
Check with your local public transport provider what discounts are available and which ones are the best for you.
You can get the Community Connect discount if you have a Community Services Card (CSC).
More information on who can get a CSC is on our page:
First, you need to apply for a Community Services Card if you don't already have one.
Once you have a Community Services Card, you can apply for the Community Connect discount through your local transport provider.
Visit your local transport provider's website to find out how to apply. We've listed some of them in the table below.
You can get a free travel card when you apply for Community Connect. You may need to load a minimum of $5 onto the new card. Check with your local transport provider for more information.

In most cases, you need one travel card for each discount. If you want discounted travel during on- and off-peak times, you may need two travel cards.
You could have the:
- SuperGold discount, for free off-peak travel on one card, and
- Community Connect discount on a second travel card.
See your local public transport provider’s website for more information and how to apply.
If you have public transport included as a cost for payments such as Disability Allowance or Temporary Additional Support, please tell us your new costs when you start using the Community Connect discount. This may affect the amount you get for these types of payments.
