Worried about losing your job
If you're struggling at work or worried you might lose your job, we can help. Tell us what's going on and we'll create a tailored plan to help you.
Things don't always go to plan, but that's OK. We have a dedicated team who can help you keep your job or find a new one.
We can help if:
- you're worried you might lose your job, for any reason
- you're struggling to do your job
- you're finding work hard
- your contract is about to end.
Contact us early so we can help you right away, even if no decisions have been made yet. We'll do our best to help you keep your current job. If that's not possible, we'll help you get a new job as soon as possible.
How we can help
We may be able to help you and your employer to avoid making your job redundant. Talk to us as early as possible, even if you're not sure if you'll lose your job.
We'll talk about your situation right now, and how we can help.
We can do things like:
- check how we can help your employer keep your job going
- figure out what your options are and talk through these with you
- find training options that can help you do your job
- help you upskill into a new job.
You don't have to be getting a benefit for this.
If you've already lost your job, or it's about to finish, we can still help. We'll help you get a new job as soon as possible, and support you between jobs:
How to contact us
Email our team at RedeploymentSupport@msd.govt.nz
In your email tell us:
- your name
- your contact details
- how your job is going and what's worrying you.
We'll connect you to someone in your area who will talk to you directly to understand what's going on and what you need.
Help for your job
As well as talking to us, there are also other things we can do to help you with your current job.
Feeling anxious about work
