One-on-one support to get a job
Our Rapid Return to Work service can help you get a job that's right for you, and give you any support you need to get there.
Looking for a job can sometimes be challenging. If you're keen to find a new job and are ready to start job searching, our Rapid Return to Work team is here to help.
This is an optional service, and it won't affect any payments you get from us.
How it works
Our team will work with you for up to 6 weeks. You'll work with the same person each time and stay in touch by phone and email.
They'll help with:
- writing your CV and cover letter
- preparing you for interviews
- regular catch ups to see how you're going
- finding local training courses for you
- matching you with jobs you're interested in.
At the end of the 6 weeks you’ll know what type of job you want and be confident to search for jobs and apply for them, if you haven’t found work already.
If you get a job within the 6 weeks, we can connect you with ongoing support and advice to help you manage any challenges that come up.
Who can get it
To get Rapid Return to Work you need to:
- want to start looking for a job
- be between 18 and 64 years old
- have a phone or email so we can contact you
- have been getting Jobseeker Support or Sole Parent Support for less than 12 months, or have applied for one of these benefits.
How to get it
You can apply for this service either:
- when you use our online form to request a client number from us - when the form asks for a 'Client number request reason', tick "I want help to find a job".
- in MyMSD, if you've recently applied for Jobseeker Support or Sole Parent Support - select the "Talk to us about support finding work" button on your MyMSD homepage.
- during an appointment (if you have one) at one of our service centres.
We'll contact you within 48 hours.
